So this week I’m helping out at my Dad’s office since his co-director person Zoe is away in America on holiday. One of my tasks is to sort out their website. Now, I did do *something* with it over a year ago, but I lacked knowledge about xHTML then which I don’t know. At least, for the most part ![]()
Therefore I was cleaning it up. Last year I removed several thousand lines of utter garbage which MS Frontpage decides to add in to pages, and that was about it. It had 89 errors or more per page so I started with the index. Am slowly getting there, have done around 6 pages. I had to update one of the pages to include more information, though.
I also have to add a new page. My Dad’s office clerk Sarah had started it via Frontpage… and it was scary, behold: The talent of Microsoft Frontpage
Its horrifying. Over 3000 lines of code. I’d get it done in less than 200
I got there at 10am (literally 10am, on the dot
) and.. it wasn’t a bad day. I didn’t like having to go to Tesco for 3 bottles of milk for the training courses taking place this week, mainly because they were heavy and they squashed my sandwich in the bad while I was struggling through the carpark (they were 6 pints each, and the handles of the bag were stretching).
I spent most of my time poking the website, which I am sad to say, I found quite fun. It was fun validating the pages and then going to solve the little bits here and there. I unleashed my (very deep) inner geek today ![]()
I was a *bit* naughty for having my IM clients logged in, but it was a welcome distraction from total HTML’age, and it didn’t really distract me that much. All in all, not a bad day. Went quite fast.
On the way home I had to sit and wait on a road for a large herd of cows to cross the road, including a very young looking Calf
Was a beautiful sunset too. The forest looks yummy in a golden glow ^__^
Now…I am completely zonked. Probably the meds kicking in, haha.
